Among Tweets and Facebook posts full of hints at a second Lucius game, many fans have been anxiously awaiting for Shiver Games to officially announce a sequel. Nearly two years after the release of Lucius, the indie developer has revealed the game's successor, titled Lucius II: The Prophecy.

In development for nearly two years, Lucius II will improve on the gameplay seen in the original game, making many features available that players felt were missing from Lucius. "The main goal has been to add more freedom and to deliver a sandbox-type setting for the murderous kid - Be ready to use your creativity for inflicting pain and suffering, because this time the restrictions are gone and the sins have multiplied!" said co-founder of Shiver Games, Johannes Aikio.

Lucius II continues the story of the original game seeing Satan's son unharmed from the hellish disaster that occurred at his hands. "He had taken the weak and punished the wicked. He had looked through their souls and found the true selves they had been hiding," and now Lucius finds himself locked tightly in a children's psychiatric hospital.

The child of the devil, it's no shock that Lucius finds a way escape his restraints and once more wreak havoc on unsuspecting victims. Also revealed this morning, the announcement trailer shows a blood splattered Lucius freed from a straight jacket, sneaking his way around a mental asylum, causing the familiar chaos that is associated with the little devil.

Those who played the first game will recognize Lucius' powers from the release trailer, with his telekinesis, mind control and general evilness showcased. If Shiver Game's Lucius is all too new to you, we did a short review of the game back in 2013 giving it a mediocre 65/100. However blasé the review, we had a hell of a time with it calling it "Disturbingly entertaining."

Lucius II: The Prophecy will release in early 2015 via Steam.
