Dave The Diver Guide | How To Get The Bug Net

The Bug Net in Dave The Diver: In The Jungle is easy to miss if you move through the village too quickly. It is tied to Lipah, an NPC near the Banana Trees, and skipping her early dialogue can delay the unlock by at least two in-game days. To get the Bug Net as soon as possible, you need to speak with Lipah at the right time and then progress far enough for her Fireflies request to appear.

Speak To Lipah Near The Banana Trees

After Bancho comments on the villagers’ food, go to the top-left side of the village. Lipah should be standing near the Banana Trees. Speak with her before continuing too far into the main story. This first conversation is important because it prepares the next step of her request later.

Once you have spoken to Lipah, continue with Bancho’s request and go fishing as normal. Progress through the story until you serve proper food to the Chief and officially run Bancho Grill for the first time.

Wait For The Village Map Cutscene

After the evening shift at Bancho Grill ends, a cutscene will play. During this scene, the Chief’s Daughter walks Dave around the village and gives him the Village Map. This is the moment that opens up the next step for getting the Bug Net.

When the cutscene ends and Dave is left on the beach, return to the Banana Trees and look for Lipah again. She should now have an exclamation mark above her head, which means her request is available.

Start Lipah’s Fireflies Mission

Talk to Lipah when the exclamation mark appears above her. Go through all of her dialogue until she asks Dave to catch three Fireflies for her lantern. After this conversation, Lipah gives Dave the Bug Net so the mission can begin.

If Lipah does not show the exclamation mark right away, speak with the old men sitting by the fire and then check Lipah again. This can help trigger the next part of the village interaction.

How The Bug Net Works

Once Lipah gives you the Bug Net, you can use it to catch the three Fireflies needed for her lantern. This unlocks bug catching and lets you start collecting insects in Dave The Diver: In The Jungle. The key is to speak with Lipah early, complete the first Bancho Grill sequence, receive the Village Map, and then return to her near the Banana Trees.
