A guide on Fish Farm's essential tips in Dave the Diver.

You will unlock three different farms to get food for your restaurant as you play Dave the Diver. Each farm has different resources, which is a good way to make sure you always have the right fixings for after dives. They can't all be together at the same time. This guide tells you how to unlock each farm and use them well.

Operating the Fish Farm

The first farm you will access is the Fish Farm. It allows you to house and breed fish for use as ingredients or for sale. The farm has nine slots, each corresponding to a depth zone in the Blue Hole, including a slot for night fish. Initially, you have access to four slots: Blue Hole Shallows, Medium Depths, Depths, and night fish. You must purchase the remaining slots from Otto.

Once unlocked, there is a chance you will obtain Fish Roe, which will appear and grow on your farm. When you have at least two fish of the same species, they may reproduce each day. It is a good practice to keep a pair of each species for every depth to maintain a consistent inventory.

You must manage the fish density for each depth. If a tank becomes too crowded, new Roe will not appear and reproduction will stop. You can sell fish or send them to the kitchen to manage stock. You can also expand the density limit for each depth by speaking with Otto.

How to Unlock the Fish Farm

You unlock the Fish Farm by completing the sub-mission A Noisy Customer. Otto will visit Bancho Sushi and request Moray Eel Curry. This mission also unlocks night dives. You should unlock this farm as soon as possible, as it is required before accessing the other farms.

Operating the Vegetable Farm

The Vegetable Farm has three areas for growing rice, vegetables, and raising chickens. You will not have access to all areas immediately.

How to Unlock the Vegetable Farm

Unlocking this farm involves three steps. First, a VIP named Michael Bang will visit your sushi bar and request a dish with rice. This prompts Otto to open the rice field. Later, another VIP named Sammy will arrive. Accepting his mission to cook Vegetable Sushi unlocks the crop area. Completing his quest will finally unlock the chicken coop.

Managing Rice and Vegetables

Rice and vegetables take about three in-game days to grow but require daily upkeep. Weeds will grow in both fields, and vegetables can be attacked by pests, which ruins them. You should check the farm daily to pull weeds and replant any lost vegetables.

Otto plants new rice automatically, but he will not plant if the nutrient level is too low. You can see this level next to the rice field; it decreases if weeds are left unattended. You can purchase field expansions from Otto. For vegetables, you start with one of four rows, each with six spaces. You must purchase additional rows from Otto. You plant seeds bought from him and must water them. A wet circle under the plant means it is watered.

You can buy fertilizer from Otto to block pests, increase harvest yield, or enrich the soil. Only one fertilizer type can be active at a time, and it affects all vegetables. You will receive a daily farming report on your phone, but you should still visit the farm each day to manage weeds, water plants, and harvest. Upgrades like sprinklers can automate some tasks later.

Managing Chickens

Sammy will eventually tend the chicken coop. Chickens generally lay one egg per day. Certain types, like the Free-Range Chicken, have a higher chance of laying a Grade A Egg. You can purchase new chickens and check their stats with Sammy.

Operating the Seaweed Farm

The final farm is the Seaweed Farm, located in the Sea People Village. It requires minimal tending, so you can leave it for several days before harvesting.

How to Unlock the Seaweed Farm

You unlock this farm much later. Complete two quests for Kazhin, the owner of the Seed Shop in the Sea People Village. Afterwards, speak with Gumo, the farmer at the Seaweed Farm, and serve him a dish containing Seaweed, which Bancho can prepare.

The farm has six slots in total. You can use two immediately and must purchase the rest from Gumo. You buy seeds for the farm from Kazhin at the Seed Shop.
