The Dance Of Knives Rogue is one of the fastest and strongest Diablo IV Rogue builds in the game. It is a Level 1 viable build that scales well into the endgame, thanks to a combination of high mobility, strong single-target damage, flexible Imbuement options, and good map-clearing speed. The build mainly has two versions: Poison Imbuement for leveling and early endgame, and Cold Imbuement with The Umbracrux for harder endgame pushing.
Poison Dance Of Knives Leveling Setup
The Poison version is the best way to start. This setup uses Blade Shift to build Combo Points and restore energy, then lets you spin through enemies with Dance Of Knives. The key is movement. When you move through enemies while spinning, your energy recovery keeps the build running for long periods.
Use Poison Imbuement against elites and bosses. Use Shadow Imbuement early if you need better area clearing before your stronger gear comes online. Dark Shroud gives important damage reduction, while Concealment adds movement speed and helps you reposition. Dash is mainly used to move between enemy packs faster.

How To Play The Build
The basic rotation is simple. Build Combo Points with Blade Shift, activate Poison Imbuement, use Dark Shroud and Concealment, then move through enemies with Dance Of Knives. Keep spinning as long as your energy holds. Use Dash when there are no nearby enemies and you need to reach the next pack.
Upgrade your core skills. After that, invest more into Dance Of Knives, Poison Imbuement, Dark Shroud, and Concealment. This gives the build enough damage, energy sustain, and defense to move into early endgame.
Endgame Poison Variant
The starter endgame version continues the same Poison playstyle. It is useful for lower Torment tiers, farming bosses, collecting Unique items, and building toward the main endgame setup. This version also starts using the Sightless set, which increases damage after breaking stealth, improves defenses, and eventually gives stronger damage with a permanent Shadow Clone effect.

Cold Umbracrux Endgame Variant
The strongest endgame version uses Cold Imbuement, The Umbracrux, and Cowl Of The Nameless. This variant creates powerful Cold explosions around the Umbracrux Totem. The totem appears after using a Subterfuge skill such as Smoke Grenade.
To play this version, dash into enemies, drop Smoke Grenade, activate Shadow Clone and Cold Imbuement, then spin through enemies with Dance Of Knives. Stick to the Umbracrux Totem, your Shadow Clone will attack it and do heavy burst damage. Remaining inside the smoke cloud also helps activate the Sightless set multiple times, increasing both damage and defense.

Best Gear For Dance Of Knives Rogue
For the main endgame version, The Umbracrux and Cowl Of The Nameless are required. The Sightless set is also important, especially if you want the full stealth-based damage and defense package. Saboteur’s Signet adds Vulnerable, Weaken, and a major damage boost. Shrouded Gift is used as a defensive option for the Cold version.
Mythic Uniques are not mandatory, but they make the build smoother. Heir Of Perdition is a solid helmet option, and Eldrune Of Justice makes comfortable endgame play more attainable. For pushing, the build can drop Dash, slot Dark Shroud on the skill bar and use a setup that groups enemies more efficiently.
