Jurassic World Evolution 2 Guide | How To Get Dinosaurs In Sandbox
Start with the right buildings, gather DNA, then synthesize and release your first dinosaurs in Sandbox fast.

Once you start a Sandbox game in Jurassic World Evolution 2, the setup depends on your mode. If you are playing on Standard Mode, that means Scientists and Research are turned on, so a few steps are required before you can create dinosaurs.
Build A Functional Park First
Begin by constructing a simple but functional park layout. Place an Arrival Centre first, and the style does not matter. Then add a Control Centre, an Expedition Centre, and a Science Centre or a Fossil Centre. Connect everything with a path so the buildings work properly. Power is also required, so buy a Backup Generator and make sure the yellow coverage reaches your buildings.

Recruit The Right Scientists
Next, open the Scientists tab and choose Recruit New Scientists. The dinosaur you want to make decides what skills you need. You may need up to 6 Logistics, 5 Genetics, and 6 Welfare spread across 3 Scientists. If your team is short on a skill, recruitment is the quickest fix.

Dig Up Fossils And Extract DNA
Once staffing is ready, open the Expedition tab and launch an expedition with your scientists. Early on, you can only dig for certain dinosaur fossils, so do not worry if the list feels limited. Exit the Expedition tab and wait for the expedition to finish. Then open the Fossils tab and extract as many fossils as you can. You usually need at least 50% to 60% of a dinosaur’s genome to move forward.

Build An Enclosure And Use The Hatchery
Once DNA is ready, construct an exhibit for your dinosaur. When installing fences, make sure part of the fence line is within the yellow power coverage. Then build a Hatchery on the fence. Click Hatchery, then select Synthesize for the dinosaur you want to hatch. After that, choose Incubate. When incubation finishes, release your dinosaur into the enclosure.

Adjust Comfort And Expand Your Roster
After release, check the Comfort tab to see what your dinosaur needs. Use it to edit the environment so the habitat matches those needs. If you want more species, research additional dinosaur fossils in the Research tab. As your park increases in Popularity, you will also have chances to unlock new dinosaurs naturally through progression.
If You Are In Creative Mode
If you are playing in Creative Mode, the process is even easier. You can focus on building a functional Hatchery, then create and release dinosaurs without needing scientists.
