If your park feels stuck on a low scientist limit, it usually means capacity is capped by your staff infrastructure. You can still manage tasks, but you will not be able to recruit beyond the current limit until you expand the right building and unlock its upgrades.

The Building That Increases Scientist Capacity

The only reliable way to increase the number of scientists you can have is the Staff Centre (sometimes shown as Staff Center, depending on language settings). Once this building is available and upgraded, your park can support hiring more scientists.

Where to Find the Staff Centre in the Build Menu

You can place the Staff Centre from the park building options after it is unlocked. If you do not see it, the usual reason is that it has not been researched yet, or your current mode/scenario has restrictions.

How to Unlock It Through Research

To access the Staff Centre, you need to research it. Look for it under Research Options> Infrastructure, then find the Staff Centre entry. After that, the research is completed, and the building becomes available for placement.

The Upgrades You Must Get to Build More Staff Centres

Getting one Staff Centre helps, but expanding capacity properly depends on its upgrade path. To build more Staff Centres, you must unlock the early upgrade nodes tied to staff improvements. These initial upgrades enable further expansion, so make sure the first upgrades in that chain are completed before placing additional centres.

What Usually Stops the Upgrade From Working

If you cannot upgrade right away, the most common reason is cost. The upgrade can require a large amount of the “gear” style currency/resource shown in the interface. You may also find that you need enough capable Scientists available to start the research or upgrade requirements.

Quick Troubleshooting If You’re Still Stuck

If the Staff Centre does not appear, check that the Staff Centre research under Infrastructure is actually completed. If upgrades are greyed out, it is usually because you are short on the required resource, or you have not unlocked the earlier upgrade nodes that gate the next ones.

If you are trying to raise capacity quickly, focus on unlocking the first staff upgrade steps, then return to the Staff Centre and apply the capacity-related upgrades before building more centres.
