Fort Logbooks are a key progression item in The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. Each recovered book opens another starting area, but the Forts that hold them are easy to miss because they sit deep inside the jungle and are not directly marked during an expedition.

Choose a destination connected to another area by a dotted white route on the expedition map. These connected regions are the ones to prioritize when you want another Fort Logbook. A simple contract is usually the safest choice because you can search for the book without adding an unnecessarily difficult objective.
Recognize the Fort
Move inland and follow the main paths rather than spending too long near the shore. The Fort is usually positioned toward the far side of the region. Look for wooden walls, a lookout structure, gates, or a small fortified camp. The entrance may not face the road, so circle the outer wall when the direct path ends at a locked gate or blocked section.
Search the Small Tent
Once inside the Fort, clear nearby enemies before searching. The Fort Logbook normally rests on a small table beneath a compact white or canvas tent, often close to a flag. Approach the table and use the interaction prompt to pick up the book. Carrying it keeps your hands occupied, so secure the immediate area first.

Return the Logbook Safely
Take the Fort Logbook back toward the Ox Cart so you can move it with the rest of the expedition cargo. Avoid unnecessary fights and treasure detours after collecting it. The map unlock only becomes permanent after you reach the boat, finish the expedition, and return safely to the Galleon.
Use the Map for the Next Search
Target a connected jungle region, locate its Fort, recover the Fort Logbook from the tent, and extract safely to unlock the next area.
Back on the Galleon, open the expedition map and check the newly accessible routes. Continue targeting regions joined by dotted white lines. An Area Map can make navigation easier during later runs, but it shows the region layout rather than placing the Fort directly on the map.

FAQ
Q. Where are Fort Logbooks found?
A. Fort Logbooks are found inside abandoned Forts, usually on a small table beneath a tent within the fortified area.
Q. Do you need a specific Logbook contract?
A. No. You can recover a Fort Logbook while completing another contract in a region that contains one.
Q. Why did the new area remain locked?
A. The book must survive the expedition with you. Dying, losing it, or failing to extract prevents the map unlock from registering.
