If you want a quick, early catch that can turn into a useful flier later, Hoppip is one of the simplest options in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It spawns in the very first location you walk through when the game begins.

That means you can grab it almost immediately, then evolve it through normal leveling with no extra requirements.

Where To Find Hoppip Early

Hoppip is in the very first location, right on the first path you walk down when you start the game. It can even appear right in front of you as you enter that opening area, so you do not need to travel anywhere special. Just move along the starting route and look around the grass until you spot Hoppip.

How To Evolve Hoppip Into Skiploom

To evolve Hoppip into Skiploom, level it up to level 18. Once it reaches level 18, the evolution triggers automatically. No items are needed, and there are no time or friendship conditions.

How To Evolve Skiploom Into Jumpluff

After you get Skiploom, keep leveling it up until level 27. At level 27, it evolves into Jumpluff. This evolution also has no special conditions. All you need is regular experience from battles, quests, or candies.

Quick Leveling Tip

You can get the evolutions quickly if you fight wild Pokémon close in the beginning and keep Hoppip in your active party. When it gets to level 18, you get Skiploom. When you get to level 27, you get Jumpluff, which ends the line.
