Steam Deck ecosystem continues to receive updates, with improvements to the Steam beta client, ARM64 support for NonSteamLauncher, and new developments around Helix SR and FSR4. Meanwhile, new leaks have provided details about the possible hardware specifications of the Steam Deck 2, including its CPU and memory configuration.
First, the Steam Deck beta client received an update. This update includes fixes for playing with friends. For general improvements, it includes fixes for how friends join games, along with several notification fixes. It also improves Quick Access Menu responsiveness and fixes a bug that caused per-friend notification settings to be ignored.

NonSteamLauncher Adds ARM64 Support and New Features
So, if you've been playing with friends and experiencing issues, we recommend checking out this update. For Desktop Mode, the update also restyles the Steam update UI. These changes address some of the issues users may encounter while using the Steam Deck. Next, NonSteamLauncher has received an update that adds ARM64 support and new features.
If you use ARM64 devices, you can now take advantage of this support. Along with ARM64 compatibility, the update also brings new features, including Murder OS effects and Helix SR integration. It's good to see NonSteamLauncher keep getting updates, especially for those of you using SteamOS on ARM64 devices.
This is another development worth watching as support for different hardware platforms continues to expand. As you guys know, we have been following what Helix SR has been doing. Now, the developers have released an update that makes it easier to bring FSR4 to Helix SR. If you have been looking for a way to bring FSR4 to your Steam Deck or Steam Machine, you can check out this update.
We also have a plugin called Multiframes that makes the process easier. With this plugin, you can use Helix SR and inject FSR4. We will also be making a video about this process, but you can download the Multiframes Plugin and try it yourself. We will include the link in the description for anyone interested in setting it up.
Benchmark results from AMD driver releases suggest some possible Steam Deck 2 specifications.
The CPU reportedly has 6 cores and 12 threads, likely running on Zen 6. This would be an upgrade over the current Steam Deck, which uses a Zen 2 CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads. The leaked information also suggests a base clock of 2.4GHz, which is the same as the current Steam Deck. For memory, it looks like we could see a significant change.
Steam Deck 2 is reportedly going to feature 24GB of RAM compared to the original Steam Deck's 16GB of LPDDR5 memory. This increase could improve performance, especially in memory-intensive games. As we know, the Steam Deck is reaching a point where it struggles to run some of the latest AAA games.
With newer releases demanding more from the hardware, an upgrade like this could help the next-generation handheld handle those games. We look forward to seeing what Valve does with the Steam Deck 2, especially if these reported CPU and memory specs prove accurate. However, until Valve officially reveals the hardware, treat these leaks as unconfirmed information.
