After eight years of waiting, the Cyberpunk 2077 community finally has a concrete release date for the upcoming RPG. In revealed gameplay, the title looks visually stunning, and left many players wondering if their PCs would have the capability to run the game to its full potential.
Releasing on November 19, 2077 is being developed by the same company known for the widely successful Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red (CDPR). The developer has proven itself capable of delivering top-of-the-line games for minimal upgrades, and it seems that CDPR will be doing the same for Cyberpunk 2077.
As revealed via Twitter on September 18, the system specs for running Cyberpunk 2077 on PC are:
Cyberpunk 2077'S Minimum System Requirements:
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 10
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570k or AMD FX-8310
Memory: 8GB
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 470
Storage: 70 GB HDD (SSD recommended)

Memory: 12GB
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 Fury
Storage: 70 GB SSD
Many PC gamers are shocked but excited to hear this news, as some of the required components are older pieces. For example, the minimum GPU (GTX 780) was released over seven years ago, and the Intel CPU is even older. These minimum requirements allow players with all sorts of PC rigs to load up CDPR's newest title.
Although these are the minimum requirements, Cyberpunk 2077 is miles ahead when played on updated parts. CDPR recently paired with graphics retailer NVIDIA to show off the title's raytracing and other graphic features, which blew gamers away. From its first trailer to its more recent, 2077 is a graphic masterpiece, despite being able to run on older models.
Despite numerous delays to the title in recent years, CDPR assures players that the current release date is 'set in stone', as it were. These few weeks before launch will be an ideal opportunity for players to gear up for the upcoming game, so that Cyberpunk can be played at its full potential.
The game's broad player base is good news for the company, not to mention the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 will also release on a majority of consoles, save the next-generation platforms. Instead, the Stadia, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will receive their own version of the title in the first quarter of 2021, after the consoles have had time to patch any launch day technicalities.
CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 launches on November 19 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
