"Pay-to-win" Sniper Rifle Causing Frustration for Call of Duty: Warzone Players

The issue concerns the 'Oceanographer' Sniper rifle blueprint this time

Days after Activision banned 60,000 accounts in a bid to stop cheating, yet another disruption to the fairness of the game has emerged.

Akin to the issue with the Mac-10 blueprint, the problem concerns the Oceanographer HDR Sniper rifle blueprint.

As Reddit user aur0n shows using a scope comparison, those who purchase the blueprint gain a scope with a significantly increased peripheral vision.

With blueprints being a paid commodity, users have dubbed occurrences like this as 'pay-to-win' on account of them offering players who pay real money advantage over those that don't.

aur0n has this to say in the comments of their post:

"I know it's not as broken as the MAC10 with increased base stats like we had some weeks ago, but I still find unfair that people who shopped the HDR in the store have a better weapon (with peripheral vision) than others that don't want to spend money on it."

The Mac-10 blueprint saw a nerf following the pay-to-win accusations, so player complaints may result in the same for this weapon.

Call of Duty: Warzone is avalable free to play for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and PC.
