Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred features a distinct end-game build hierarchy, particularly with Torment 12 War Plans as the primary testing ground. The best builds aren't only about sheer damage. Speed, simplicity of play, boss killing, map clearing, gear needs, just overall consistency, all matter. This tier list is for builds that can easily handle the most difficult end-game material without seeming slow, clumsy, or too reliant on unstable setups.
God Tier Builds
The top end of the tier list belongs to Ball Lightning Sorc, Death Trap Rogue, and Whirlwind Barb. These three builds sit above the rest because they combine high damage, strong mobility, and reliable performance across nearly every major endgame activity.
Ball Lightning Sorc takes the top position because it has huge damage, strong clearing power, and an easier gearing path compared with some other elite builds. It can handle Torment 12 bosses, Mephisto, and Lilith without major issues once the core setup is active.
Death Trap Rogue is slightly harder to build, but it becomes one of the fastest endgame options once properly optimized. Its Infinite Step variant depends on enough cooldown reduction, allowing repeated Artifice Shadow Step movement across the map. It is extremely fast and can kill bosses in only a few seconds with the right setup.
Whirlwind Barb is not quite as fast as the first two builds, but it is much easier to activate. It has strong damage, good speed, and a smoother gearing curve, making it one of the most reliable high-end choices.

S Tier Builds
S Tier includes builds that are still very strong for endgame content but do not fully match the consistency of the God Tier options. Evade Swarm Bone Spirit, Static Field Sorc, Minion Barb, Chain Lightning Sorc, Penetrating Shot Rogue, Apocalypse Warlock, Dance Of Knives Rogue, and several Warlock builds all perform well here.
Penetrating Shot Rogue is especially strong in Tower pushing and can clear very high content quickly, but it relies too much on bugs and struggles more against bosses when those interactions are removed. That keeps it out of God Tier.
Dance Of Knives Rogue remains strong because it scales extremely well with gear. It can reach massive poison damage and strong screen clearing, but it needs heavy investment before reaching its best form.
A Tier Builds
A Tier contains solid endgame builds that can clear Torment 12, but they usually have a clear weakness. Some have trouble moving around, some have trouble with their bosses and some just need to survive more. Paladin, Clash, Lunatic Warlock, Storm Druid, Auradin, Zeal, Pure Hammer, Rock Splitter Gorilla, and Blood Wave Necromancer fit this range.

Necromancer has strong damage potential, but survivability is its biggest problem. Even strong Blood Wave Necromancer setups can feel fragile in Torment 12, making the class harder to recommend compared with faster and safer builds.
B Tier Mention
Twisting Blades Rogue is the key B Tier mention. It remains a popular build, but it feels slower, clunkier, and weaker in area clearing than Dance Of Knives Rogue. For most endgame situations, Dance Of Knives does the same job more effectively.
