Elden Ring Nightreign Guide | How To Complete Duchess Remembrance Questline
A guide on how to complete the Duchess Remembrance Questline.
Game Guide by Ornstein on Jun 05, 2025
Duchess is a cool character with great skill moves, but you'll definitely want to complete her Remembrance quest chain. By doing so, you'll earn additional relics—a better relic overall—and you'll be able to make her very powerful indeed. As with all character quests, these are well worth doing. To begin, you need to be at the Roundtable Hold.
From there, walk in the direction shown on your map to open your journal and locate the Duchess's quest entries. If any entries aren't yet available, you may need to spend more time playing with the Duchess herself and complete a few expeditions to unlock them.
Chapter 3: First Duchess Remembrance
To start the first Duchess Remembrance in Chapter 3, head straight forward from Roundtable Hold and speak with the Raider. Exhaust all of his dialogue, then open your map to locate the following icon, which directs you to the Wylder—who is experiencing some weapon maintenance issues.
Speak to him until he has nothing left to say, then return to Roundtable Hold and speak again with the Raider. After his dialogue ends, you'll need to embark on an expedition. Although you can do this with friends, it's often easier to switch to solo mode because only one personal quest can be active at a time.
Once you enter the expedition, look for a flashing icon on the map; this indicates the area you need to progress your quest. Before heading there, try to gain one or two levels and gather a few healing potions to make the fight easier.
The expedition is time-based, so you'll want to move quickly before the outer circle closes in. When you arrive, tackle all of the enemies in the designated area. If you find yourself struggling, remember you'll respawn at the exact starting location each time, so keep trying until you defeat them.
After defeating the enemies, pick up the golden jewel that's highlighted nearby, then enter the inner circle to face the first Night Boss. Whether you win or lose against this boss, return to Roundtable Hold with the special Duke item you've obtained. Back at Roundtable Hold, head in the direction indicated to find the Wylder again.
He'll thank you and reward you with some Faded Iron Coins. Return one more time to the Raider and exhaust his dialogue. Next, go to the Garden to meet the Revenant; follow the path shown until you find her.
Speak with her until her dialogue ends, then head back to Roundtable Hold and look for the Iron Menial. Finish speaking with him, and nearby, you'll find the conclusion of your first Remembrance. Upon completing it, you'll be rewarded with the Golden Dew relic, which increases your character's skill attack power by about 7–10% and boosts the power of your affinity attacks.
Chapter 5: Second Duchess Remembrance
To start Chapter 5's second Remembrance, open your notebook and choose the entry that goes with it. Follow the way shown to get into the Garden and start a dialogue. If you don't see the prompt immediately, you may need to progress a bit further until a message appears about a "strange aura."
Once prompted, refer to your map to navigate the area. You'll eventually find the Wylder sitting on a wall out of sight, eating bread. Speak with him and accept the bread he offers; you'll receive the Pita Bread item.
Next, make your way back inside the Garden to the Iron Menial to discuss the Pita Bread, which advances the Duchess's story. Once that conversation concludes, nearby, you'll find the end of this Remembrance. Return to Roundtable Hold to receive the Duchess Chalice—a significant reward that grants you a blue, yellow, and white slot to equip relics of any color.
Chapter 6: Third Duchess Remembrance
For the third Remembrance in Chapter 6, open your journal and select the entry. Follow the map to find the Raider in a broken-down room, where he's eating and drinking at a table. Speak with him until his dialogue concludes.
You'll then face a challenging encounter, so prepare by attaching strong relics. Exit to the shoreline—hugging the wall to avoid enemies—and you'll meet the Revenant and her summons. If possible, equip a relic that grants Frost Stomp; this multi-target skill greatly simplifies the fight.
Otherwise, focus on eliminating summons first, then take the Revenant down from a safe distance. After defeating her, speak with her to receive the Crown Medal. You'll then need to embark on another expedition: open the map and head to the marked location. As before, gain a few levels and stock up on healing potions before finishing the expedition.
When you arrive at the expedition site—ideally on Day Two if you want an easier experience—you may use nearby camps and ghost trees to traverse long distances quickly. Once at the destination, dispatch the enemies there.
Then, collect the weathered veins from the tombstone before challenging the first boss. If you're aiming to return promptly, you can lose to this boss to respawn at your home base. Afterward, please return to the Raider at Roundtable Hold and inform him of what happened and what words you discovered on the vein.
He'll reward you with the Double-Sided Coin. Near him, you'll find the end of this Remembrance; return home to claim the Crown Medal relic. This relic grants your dagger chain attacks a chance to replay the event upon hitting an enemy—approximately every eight combo hits—and increases your dagger's attack power.
Chapter 8: Fourth Duchess Remembrance
To initiate the final (fourth) Remembrance in Chapter 8, return to your journal and select the entry. Go to Roundtable Hold, where you'll be prompted to bless the coins. If this prompt doesn't appear immediately, complete another expedition and return.
Once the prompt appears, follow the direction shown (the marker may not be visible on your map) to access the basement of Roundtable Hold. Descend to the very bottom to speak with the Iron Menial again.
After finishing his dialogue, give him the Iron Coins. Open your map to locate the Wylder, who will be standing by the fireplace. Speak with him and choose "Let's defeat the Nightlord." Once you've done so, return to the Iron Menial to unlock a new costume for the Duchess.
After leaving the basement, you'll have earned the final relic for the Duchess: the Blessed Iron Coin. This relic increases your attack power when you defeat an enemy while your art is active—ideal for using your finale to conceal yourself and eliminate multiple enemies. It also grants continuous HP recovery and a slight health boost with Vigor 3.
Additionally, you can switch to the new Remembrance costume by visiting the Wardrobe, which is located near where you spoke to the Wylder earlier in the basement. The choice between the two costumes comes down to whether you prefer the Duchess's hair in a ponytail or a bun.
