Restoring FP if you're playing recluse for the first time can be a really annoying thing if you don't know how to do it properly and manage your FP.

Basic FP Restoration Method

Essentially, in order to restore FP, what you need to do is actually deal elemental damage to the target. This can be with spells, it can be with your staves, or anything that will deal some form of elemental damage. Once you've done that, you'll see that there's now this white or bluish circle that has appeared around the enemy.

Just keep in mind that for this to work the most efficiently, target the enemy so that you'll actually be able to see that white circle, because if you don't target the enemy, the white circle won't show up.

What you'll now need to do is use your elemental defense ability, which you do by holding Y or triangle on your controller, and then you'll need to press Alt 2 or Alt T at the same time. Once you press Alt T after holding triangle or Y, you'll see that you'll do this ability that will now replenish your FP.

Understanding the Charge System

Now, if you deal damage again and you do it quicker, you'll see that in the bottom left, your second ability to the left has two charges to it.

You'll see it's almost like raining stars, but in reverse - almost like shooting stars. This has three charges to it, so if you restore FP three times, it will now give you a full charge.

Important Warning About the Fourth Charge

If you try to restore FP for the fourth time instead of actually restoring your FP, it's going to do an elemental damage attack.

You'll just need to keep this in mind when trying to restore your FP because you don't want to be trying to restore FP, and then it does this animation for a damage attack, and then you get caught off guard because you thought you were restoring FP.

You'll see that because of those three charges you just held, it's doing almost three attacks for those three charges, and once that's done, you can now start restoring your FP once again like normal.

Alternative FP Restoration Methods

If you've completely run out of FP and you have no way of dealing any elemental damage, whether it's a staff or any spells, nothing like that, what you can do is look for this tree that has almost these blue-like little plants next to it. It doesn't really show up on the map, but that's one way to restore a bit of FP.

But if you want to restore all your FP, what you'll need to do is just run past a sight of grace, and there are quite a few around the map. That is how you will manage it once you've completely run out.
