This feature allows you to block enemy attacks without taking damage, enabling you to launch counterattacks and maintain your momentum during fights in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Standard Parry Technique

If you hit an enemy while they are in the middle of their attack motion, you can parry. The only way to be successful is to strike at the exact moment that the enemy is swinging at you.

If you do it right, you'll hear a particular sound like metal clinking, and Hornet will block the attack without getting damaged in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Silk Enhanced Defense

To adopt a specialized defensive stance for a different parry method, you need to use the Silk technique. When you use this stance, Hornet goes into a defensive stance that instantly parries enemy attacks in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

When you successfully block an attack in this stance, you'll hear the same metallic parry sound, and Hornet will start a counterattack right away without taking any damage.

This defense position is an improvement on the parry system; it's one of Hornet's special moves, rather than a basic way to fight in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
