Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide | Where to Find Tandemaus and Evolve into Maushold
Find Tandemaus near towns fast, then evolve it into Maushold with a simple level-up.
Game Guide by Monarch on Feb 28, 2026
Tandemaus is one of those Pokémon you can miss even when you are in the right area. It is small. It also blends in while you ride past. The good news is that the habitat is simple. Tandemaus stays close to towns, so you can target a town area and search without doing a long journey across Paldea.
Check Tandemaus Habitat First
Open the habitat view and look at where Tandemaus spawns. The main pattern is clear. It appears near towns and is basically spread across a bunch of town areas. This makes it a quick hunt once you pick a starting town and commit to searching its nearby fields.

Best Early Spot Near The First Town
A solid early place to start is the first town you visit. Use your map, go to that town, then ride out to the area shown nearby. Tandemaus has been found in that same nearby patch more than once, so it is a strong spot to loop if you want a quick encounter.

Spot And Catch Tandemaus
Once you are in the right patch outside town, slow down and scan the ground. Tandemaus can be easy to overlook. When you see it, start the encounter and catch it right away. No hard condition is shown for the spawn time. It is unclear whether it must be night, so if you do not see it quickly, try checking the same spot again at a different time of day.

How To Evolve Tandemaus Into Maushold
After you catch Tandemaus, raise it to around level 25 to evolve it. A fast way is using Exp. Candy, like a Medium Exp. Candy, to push levels quickly. The evolution can feel unusual because it may not play a normal evolution animation.

It can look like it “just happens” after the level-up. It may evolve without battling, without fainting, and without any dramatic scene. Checking the summary can help confirm it leveled up right before the change.
