SAND: Raiders of Sophie Guide | How to Get Threads

Thread is a crafting material in SAND: Raiders of Sophie that comes up in recipes and upgrades as you play. The game is an extraction shooter, meaning you must loot points of interest out on the map to get it. If you know what crates to search for, you'll save time.

Which Crates to Open

Search for crates that have a cow symbol on them. Those are Food Crates. They are primarily for food supplies, but also include Thread. Open all containers you come across because loot is random and you may not get what you need from the first container. The bigger the point of interest, the better your chances of finding it, particularly if it is named on the islands.

Returning It Safely

After you get Thread in your inventory, you must extract to retain it. If you're going to loot, park your Trampler somewhere out of the way so it doesn't get taken out while you're gone. Be aware of hostile Raiders, creatures and other players in the vicinity while you search. If you are surprised, you lose what you have learned, so be aware of what is around you.
