Once you know how to move resources around your base in Solarpunk, it becomes much easier. This guide explains what they are and how to assign them.

How Drone Platforms Work
Once they're up and running, Drone Platforms allow you to send a drone out to collect loot. There are two slots on each platform and an upgrade slot can be used to upgrade each platform with a circuit. To put one to work, interact with a drill, an algae station, or a forestry station, and assign a drone to go pick things up from it.
Drones are assigned to Stations
You can send a drone to a nearby station, such as picking up a small load of Iron Ore that is nearby, but not always worth the trip for something so close. The true value is sending drones to stations much further away. You might put one on a Diamond station out on a far away island, for instance. The drone will go out, pick up the diamond and return to the platform.

Collecting the Loot
When a drone comes back, you just pick up the loot it brings back and hide it. There has been speculation that loot could fall directly into a nearby chest, but that hasn't been confirmed yet, so for now, don't expect it to happen automatically.
