This mission provides you with a lot of tools to get to 200 hits for a Medal in Meteo in Star Fox on the Nintendo Switch 2. There are Double Lasers, Bombs, and a shortcut route that will get you a lot more points than you need if you use them correctly.

There is also a warp section in the mission that leads to Katina, and it's almost required if you want to get the top score. Here are some tips for passing it off without any problems.

Star Fox Guide Starting in Meteo

Breaking Asteroids at the Start

From the moment the mission starts, shoot everything on screen. Asteroids are fast to shoot down with your laser, and each shot is worth. Save them for later, don't drop a Bomb here. Fly through each Asteroid Ring you encounter as you pass through this section. All of them will unlock a Double Laser at the end of the formation. The Double Laser appears in a cluster of four asteroids, so that's your cue to pick it up.

The Butterfly Wave

After the opening asteroid section, Peppy gets some lines and then a wave of Butterflies appears. Use one or two Bombs to clear them. Attempting to shoot them all will not catch as many, so Bombs are the better choice here.

The First Tunnel

Remove the jumping enemy in the first tunnel. If you're aiming for the snake enemies, then go for them. If you don't see them on the way in, they'll come at you from behind. If you're playing on Expert difficulty, remember that that type of hit is much more damaging.

Free Items and the Second Double Laser

Once the tunnel, somersault to collect the free items in the tunnel. Right after that, there's a tight cluster of asteroids. The Double Laser is in a small corner near them. Pick it up. If you already had one before, you will have your laser at its maximum and will be able to deal a lot more damage for the rest of the mission.

The Big Rock Section

This is an easy part. Pedal it up or down. At the end there is a bump, so avoid hitting it.

After the Big Rocks

A message will be sent here by R.O.B. Take it — he will drop supplies or cover fire for you. Pick up the supply box, then do a somersault to avoid the enemies coming from behind. Once somersaulted, grab the enemy in the middle of the group and eliminate them for additional hits.

Save Peppy

It's Peppy's turn to be targeted here. Take the enemies that are chasing him out of the way with a charged shot before they can do any harm.

Waves of Grouped Enemies

A series of enemy waves appears, with enemies jumping up and down. They are moving, so it is difficult to lock on to the center enemy. Don't force it. Use the first lock you obtain and then follow it with a charged shot or two normal shots to clean up the remaining player(s). After these waves, another Double Laser appears, pick it up.

The Second Tunnel

This tunnel is surrounded by enemies. Hold your position and most of them will fly through your fire on their own. If they make a mistake and go back to the start of the loop, stop them in the middle of their turn. There are enemies that are stuck to the walls, you can shoot them off with the laser. There's also a grid formation of enemies near the end of the tunnel. If you time a Bomb right, you can take out the whole grid at once. It's a smaller window than it appears, but if you have Bombs to spare, it's worth a try.

Star Fox Guide Final Checkpoint in Meteo

Butterflies and Saving Slippy Before the Checkpoint

Butterflies show up before the checkpoint. Target the middle of each cluster and remove them quickly. If you don't take care of them, these will be a real problem if you are low on health. Immediately after, enemies begin to pursue Slippy. Use a Bomb or charged shots to get them off him. Slippy will drop if you wait too long.

The shortcut after the checkpoint is close to required if you want to hit the top score. If you miss it, go back to the checkpoint and repeat.

The Warp Section

After the checkpoint, Falco destroys an asteroid and drops a Golden Ring. Grab it. The warp section is then started. Butterflies are scattered throughout but not the focus here. The important thing is to fly through each warp ring in the sequence. If you miss even one, you won't get enough hits to reach the top score no matter how many Butterflies you take down. If you can get through the rings and hit the Butterfly clusters, go for it — but the rings first. The completion of the full warp sequence unlocks the way to Katina.
