Missions are a major part of progression in ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1. They reward you with Hexagons, Saddles, Weapons, Armor, and other valuable equipment. Certain missions also have specific reward pools, allowing you to repeat the same activity when searching for a particular item.

How to Find and Start Missions

Open the Mission List and select the biome you are currently exploring. Each biome has its own selection of races, hunts, collection activities, fishing challenges, and combat missions.

The reward information helps you estimate the mission’s difficulty. Activities offering large amounts of Hexagons are usually more dangerous or take longer to complete. Start on Gamma when attempting an unfamiliar mission. Once you understand its mechanics, move to Beta and then Alpha.

Understand Mission Difficulties

Every main mission has Gamma, Beta, and Alpha versions. Gamma is the easiest and is good for learning the route or combat mechanics. Beta is more of a challenge, and Alpha gives you the best chance of getting high-quality rewards.

Greater difficulties can also provide more reward items and Hexagons. However, completing a fast Gamma or Alpha activity repeatedly may be more efficient than spending 20 or 30 minutes on a difficult mission.

Some Alpha Missions are not designed to be completed easily by one survivor. Bring friends, strong equipment, or suitable creatures when the activity allows them.

Farm The Rhino 500

The Rhino 500 is an Arctic race that places you on a Woolly Rhino. You must follow the course and travel through the checkpoint rings before the timer expires.

The race normally takes around one to two minutes once you know the route. Missing a ring can waste time, but you may be able to turn back and collect it. Practising the corners and learning which turns can be taken safely makes repeated runs much easier.

The Rhino 500 can reward Saddles, Weapons, Armor, and other useful equipment. Its reward pool can also include a Tek Sword, making it worth repeating when searching for a stronger version.

Choose Missions Based on Efficiency

Do not judge a mission only by its total Hexagon reward. A short activity that can be completed many times per hour may produce more useful loot than one long mission.

Races and Dodoball activities are useful repeatable options once you understand their mechanics. Combat missions may require more preparation, but they can become efficient when completed with the correct creatures and equipment.

Mission rewards cannot always be placed in an Industrial Grinder. However, compatible quality items can be given to a tamed Helicoprion, which has the ability to convert suitable equipment into Blueprints.

Complete Missions for Arrival Protocol

Missions are also tied to the final Arrival Protocol encounter. You must complete the required number of missions before starting each difficulty. The Alpha version requires the greatest level of mission completion.

Practise difficult activities on Gamma before attempting their Beta and Alpha versions. For challenging Alpha Missions, joining a group can make the requirements much easier to complete.
