ARK Survival Ascended Guide | Secret Ferox Cave Location (Genesis Ascended Part 1)

The secret Ferox Cave is one of the best locations for finding and taming multiple Ferox in ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1. The cave contains several Ferox spawns across two chambers, giving you a better chance of finding one with a good level. However, dangerous creatures inside can kill the Ferox before you get the opportunity to tame them.

Secret Ferox Cave Coordinates

The Ferox Cave is located in the Arctic Biome at roughly 76.4 Latitude and 19.7 Longitude. Follow these coordinates and seek for the gap in the snow covered slope. The entrance leads directly into the first chamber. Ferox can spawn close to the entrance, along the cave floor, and around the surrounding rocks.

Search the First Chamber

Enter the cave and inspect the ground around the first chamber carefully. There may be more than one Ferox in this part of the world, some of which could be difficult to spot in the snow.

Do not immediately approach the first Ferox you find. Check its level and look around for nearby threats before beginning the taming process. This cave regularly contains multiple Ferox, so searching both chambers gives you a better chance of finding a higher-level creature.

Reach the Back Chamber

Go deeper into the cave and follow the chain or path that leads to the second chamber. Most of the Ferox spawns are often concentrated in this rear section.

The back chamber is bigger and usually has more creatures in it. Ferox could be spread all over the room, so look on the floor, along the walls, and on top of things. 

Clear the Predators

The main threats inside the cave are Direwolves and Polar Bears. These predators will attack both you and the nearby Ferox. If they remain alive, they may kill the creature you want to tame or interrupt the taming process.

Clear the chamber of all hostile creatures before choosing your Ferox. Bring a heavy weapon or a proficient combat tame so that you may take out the predators swiftly without unintentionally injuring the Ferox.

Choose and Tame a Ferox

Once the cave is safe, check the remaining Ferox and select the best level available. Bring enough Element, as Ferox require it during their special taming process.

The large number of spawns makes this cave useful when searching for high-level Ferox. If the available creatures are unsuitable, leave the area and return after the spawns have refreshed.

Remove the Ferox From the Cave

Some passages inside the cave are too narrow for a transformed Ferox to pass through. Allow it to return to its smaller form, place it on your shoulder, and carry it toward the exit. You can also place the Ferox inside a Cryopod to make it easier to transport. Continue down the cave path until you reach the outside of the Arctic Biome.
