ARK Survival Ascended Guide Beaver Dam Location (Genesis Ascended Part 1)

Beaver Dams are one of the easiest ways to gather Cementing Paste and other valuable resources in ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1. Unlike many other maps, Genesis has one main area where Castoroides and their dams appear. You will need to travel into the Arctic Biome and search both above and below the surface of a Frozen Lake.

Beaver Dam Coordinates

The Beaver Dam location is at approximately 75.6 Latitude and 13.4 Longitude. This places it at the Frozen Lake in the Arctic Biome, near the large central mountain.

You can reach the area through Biome Teleportation. Selecting the West, Southwest, North, or Northeast Arctic teleport options should place you reasonably close to the lake. Once you arrive, look for a wide frozen body of water surrounded by snow, rocks, and tall grass.

Search Around the Frozen Lake

Walk around the edge and upper surface of the lake while looking for Castoroides. Beaver Dams can appear near the shoreline, in grassy sections, or partly inside the ice.

Some dams are difficult to notice because only a small section may be visible above the frozen surface. Search slowly and check beside rocks, grass, and uneven areas around the lake.

Check Beneath the Water

Castoroides sometimes enter the water and build dams beneath the surface. Jump into the lake and search along the bottom, especially near the shoreline and enclosed sections beneath the ice.

Underwater Beaver Dams can blend into the terrain, so look for their wooden shape rather than relying only on colour. A short underwater search may reveal several dams that cannot be seen from the surface.

Loot Beaver Dams Safely

Beaver Dams can contain large amounts of Cementing Paste, along with resources such as Wood, Silica Pearls, Rare Flowers, and Rare Mushrooms. Nearby Castoroides will become aggressive as soon as you open a dam, so prepare an escape route or use a strong mount.

Remove every item from the inventory when looting a dam. Leaving unwanted resources inside prevents the structure from disappearing, which can delay the spawning of new dams.

Farming on Multiplayer Servers

This site gets checked a lot on Official and Unofficial servers as it is the main Beaver Dam agricultural area on Genesis. If there are no dams, perhaps another survivor has just collected them.

Search the entire lake, including underwater sections, before leaving. You may need to return after the Castoroides have had enough time to build new dams.
