ARK Survival Ascended Guide | Obelisk Locations and Uses (Genesis Ascended Part 1)
Learn how to find Mission Dispatchers and use them as Obelisks, transfer terminals, and crafting stations.

Finding an Obelisk in ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1 can be confusing because the map does not use the familiar Obelisk structures found on many other maps. Instead, Mission Dispatchers provide the same important functions. You can use them to upload items and creatures, transfer between servers, access Tribute inventories, and craft certain Tek resources.
Where to Find Obelisks in ARK Genesis
There are no traditional Obelisks to locate across the Genesis map. You must find a Mission Dispatcher, which acts as the map’s transfer terminal.
Mission Dispatchers are positioned near mission starting points throughout the different biomes. Once you reach one, interact with its inventory rather than opening the normal mission menu. On PC, you can press F while looking at the terminal or select the option to access its inventory.

How to Use a Mission Dispatcher
The Mission Dispatcher works much like a standard Obelisk. Its interface contains sections for Inventory, Creatures, and Tribute.
The Inventory section allows you to upload and store transferable items. The Creatures section can be used to upload or download compatible tamed creatures. The Tribute section provides access to boss-related items and crafting options.
On a multiplayer server, the terminal also allows you to transfer your survivor between connected servers. In single-player mode, you may only see the option to upload your survivor because server transfer features depend on the available cluster or session settings.

Crafting Tek Resources
Mission Dispatchers also provide access to several important crafting options. You can use them to craft certain Tek Structures, Element, and Element Shards when you have the necessary materials and unlocked Engrams.
This makes Mission Dispatchers useful for more than transferring items or creatures. They also function as convenient crafting locations for advanced resources.
How to Track the Nearest Mission Dispatcher
You do not need to memorize every Mission Dispatcher location. Open your inventory, enter the Mission List, and select a mission from the available options.
Tracking a mission creates a marker that leads toward its Mission Dispatcher. The tracker also displays the distance between you and the terminal. You can check different missions to find the nearest Dispatcher or choose one in a quieter area when playing on a populated server.

Transferring Between Servers
After reaching a Mission Dispatcher, access its inventory and store any items or creatures you want to transfer. Select the server-transfer option when it is available, then choose a connected destination server.
Transfer availability can depend on the server’s settings. Some unofficial servers may restrict uploaded items, creatures, or survivor transfers, while single-player sessions use separate upload and download options.
