ARK Survival Ascended Guide Top 3 Polymer Farms (Genesis Ascended Part 1)

Polymer is essential for crafting advanced equipment in ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1, but the map does not have convenient Polymer plants. The most reliable options are harvesting Kairuku in the Arctic Biome, hunting Karkinos in the Lunar Biome, or crafting regular Polymer with Obsidian and Cementing Paste.

Farm Kairuku in the Arctic Biome

The easiest and most consistent Polymer farm is located around the frozen lakes of the Arctic Biome. Large numbers of Kairuku can appear around the main frozen lake, nearby rivers, and smaller bodies of water.

Bring a Moschops with levels invested in its Organic Polymer harvesting ability. This special harvesting bonus allows it to collect much more Organic Polymer than many other creatures.

Kill a Kairuku while mounted, then dismount and allow the Moschops to harvest the body automatically. This can provide better results than harvesting while riding it. The exact amount depends on your server rates and the Moschops’ harvesting bonus, but the high number of Kairuku makes this method reliable.

Hunt Karkinos in the Lunar Biome

Karkinos provide far more Organic Polymer per creature than Kairuku. They can be found inside several caves throughout the Lunar Biome, usually near pools of water.

After killing a Karkinos, use a Moschops with an upgraded Organic Polymer harvesting bonus to collect the body. A single Karkinos can provide a very large amount of Organic Polymer, making this the most productive method when the creatures are available.

However, this farm is less reliable than the Arctic method. Karkinos can sometimes spawn beneath the cave floor or become stuck under the water. Cave building on multiplayer servers may also block their spawns or make certain locations difficult to access.

Useful Lunar cave areas include locations near 33.3 Latitude, 17.8 Longitude and 13 Latitude, 4 Longitude. Check multiple caves if no Karkinos are visible in the first location.

Craft Regular Polymer

You can also produce regular Polymer instead of farming Organic Polymer. Each crafting recipe requires Obsidian and Cementing Paste.

Obsidian is common across Genesis, especially in the Lunar Biome. Find dark, shiny rocks and use the right metal-gathering creature or tool to get them.

Cementing Paste can be collected from Giant Beaver Dams or crafted using Chitin or Keratin with Stone. This method can be used when Kairuku and Karkinos aren't available, but it usually takes more time and effort to get ready.

Organic Polymer needs to be kept longer than Regular Polymer because it goes bad. With the right Moschops, organic polymer can be collected more quickly, but it needs to be used quickly or kept safe using the right storage methods.
