Unlocking a Rivalry Head-to-Head in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer lets you settle personal scores on the track while chasing down two key achievements.

While these one-on-one showdowns feel similar to the Sebulba boss encounter from Act 1, starting one requires deliberate setup across multiple worlds. Here is how the rivalry system works and how you can trigger these high-stakes duels.

Unlocking Sidebets in Act 2

Once you reach Act 2, the game introduces the sidebet feature inside the Challenges menu before each event in a Galactic Tour. This mechanic lets you wager currency against other competitors on the grid in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

To start building tension with another pilot, you need to single someone out. Pick one specific competitor and bet against them across every event on your current planet. Spreading your bets across different opponents will not move the rivalry forward, so stick with the same target.

Building Rivalry Across Planets

After you clear the first world and travel to the next planet, your target will confront you directly. They'll tell you to get lost, letting you know your constant bets are getting on their nerves.

From that moment on, your budding rival will have a distinct red icon beside their name in the pre-race Challenges menu in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

Keep placing wagers against them throughout this second planet. If you stay consistent, they will confront you again on a subsequent world and officially challenge you to a Rivalry Head-to-Head.

Winning Head-to-Head Duel

The actual showdown is a pure two-racer sprint to the finish line. Because it shares the same structure as the Sebulba race, raw speed alone is rarely enough to guarantee a win.

Equip offensive vehicle modules like Ion Bolt, Concussion Mine, or Shockwave before the event begins.

Hitting your rival with these abilities triggers engine malfunctions and severe handling penalties, creating easy passing windows.

As long as you have used your Tuning Points between runs to upgrade your main ship's base stats, you will easily outpace them once their ship takes damage in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

Unlocking Rivalry Achievements

Defeating your first rival in a head-to-head race immediately unlocks the First Time, Big Time achievement.

If you are aiming for total completion, you will need to repeat this targeting process across multiple tours to defeat all 11 unique pilots in one-on-one races, which unlocks the Best of the Best achievement.
