Star Wars: Galactic Racer Guide | Best Early Game Vehicle

Here’s a guide to the best early-game vehicles in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Winning races in Star Wars: Galactic Racer comes down to your setup. In the Galactic Tour campaign, you build your speeder run by run.

If you crash out of a run, you lose your setup and start over with basic upgrades and spare Credits. In multiplayer, your loadout ties directly to your chosen racer. Either way, picking the right components is what keeps you ahead of the pack in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

If you want flat-out speed, the Redline Ramjet setup is your best option. It pushes your top speed to the absolute limit and gives you the edge you need to beat your main rival, Kestar Bool.

Redline Ramjet Build

Here's how it works: you run your engine right on the edge of blowing up. When you fire your thruster, the gauge fills up. Near the end of the meter, the machine starts beeping at you. That danger zone is your Redline.

Your speed jumps massively while you redline, but letting the bar max out will blow up your engine. The trick is holding the boost until you hit the last third of that danger zone, then letting go so the meter resets in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Because you are moving way faster than normal, you have to adjust your steering. Turn into corners much earlier than usual, or take wide lines so your speed doesn't throw you straight into a wall. How hard this feels depends on the chassis you picked for your run.

Core Setup

For your style, you want to equip the Redliner racing style. You unlock it naturally once you spend a total of 375 seconds using your boost across campaign races.

For your loadout abilities, equip Flame Vent, Overtaking Surge, and Impact Shield. Impact Shield acts as your safety net when you mistime a corner or take a hit from an opponent.

Flame Vent is the star here because popping it flushes heat right out of your engine. If you hit Flame Vent while sitting in the redline zone, you instantly get a second full boost run without waiting for a cooldown in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Overtaking Surge rounds out the set by giving you a clean speed burst every time you blow past another racer.

You start with the base versions of these abilities right away. If you want their upgraded versions, head into Act 3 of the campaign and talk to Sebulba to tackle the Tales of Podracing side events.

Recommended Parts

Campaign parts show up as random drops, but you should hunt for a specific group of components to make this setup shine.

For managing heat, Extended Alarm gives you more time in the danger zone before blowing up, while Heat Reduction slows down how fast your engine builds heat in the first place in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Optimized Radiators improves cooldown speed after boosting, and Ramjet Cooling helps your engine vent faster while moving at high speeds.

For sheer velocity, Ramjet Power offers a straight boost to engine output, and Redlining Power doubles your output while in the redline state. Redline Purge readies your thruster instantly if you release it during a redline, though it increases heat gain.

Surging Alarm triggers an extra surge state while redlining, and Calibrating Landings gives you a quick speed bump every time you stick a clean jump.

To finish out the build, Frost Protection keeps you safe from the Frozen status so your steering and cooling aren't ruined mid-race in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Coolant Cycler gives you a Cooled buff after burning through a full boost, Enhanced Coolant makes that buff even stronger, and Faster Attachments cuts down the cooldown timers on all your equipped abilities.

Unlock Every Build Part

You unlock these parts by clearing events across the Galactic Tour. Both Ramjet Power and Redlining Power are available right from the start.

Hitting the early milestones unlocks Extended Alarm (Rank 3) at 35 events, followed by Surging Alarm (Rank 3) at 45 events.

Once you reach the middle tiers, you get Ramjet Cooling (Rank 4) and Frost Protection (Rank 2) at 65 events, Coolant Cycler (Rank 4) at 70 events, and both Calibrating Landings (Rank 4) and Faster Attachments (Rank 4) at 75 events in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

The high-tier parts unlock late in your campaign run. You pick up Enhanced Coolant (Rank 4) at 80 events, while Heat Reduction (Rank 4) and Redline Purge both open up at 91 events. Finally, Optimized Radiators (Rank 3) becomes available once you clear 97 events.

FAQ

Q. Why does my vehicle keep exploding while redlining?

A. You are holding the thruster too long. Let go of the button when the meter reaches the last third of the flashing red bar to let it reset safely.

Q. How do I get upgraded abilities like Flame Vent?

A. Progress through the campaign until you hit Act 3. Go speak with Sebulba to start the Tales of Podracing missions, which reward upgraded skill ranks.

Q. What is the easiest way to beat Kestar Bool?

A. Run this exact build and stay disciplined with your heat. Pop Flame Vent right before your meter overheats on long straights to pull away from him.
