Pod racers are easily the fastest vehicles in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, but you cannot jump straight into the cockpit when you start out. The speed difference between early landspeeders, bikes, and actual pods is massive, so the campaign holds them back until you make real story progress.

Here is how you unlock pod racing by unlocking various Acts Two & Three in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer Unlocking Act Two

Unlocking Act Two

The earliest point you can get behind the controls of a pod racer is during Act Two.

To begin, track down Sebulba in the hub area. He offers a dedicated side quest chain called Tales of Pod Racing. Instead of tying directly into the main plot, this mode lets you pilot Sebulba's personal machine across a series of playable flashbacks from his earlier career.

You start by speaking directly with Sebulba to kick off the storyline. From there, enter the opening track called Memories of Mos Espa.

You must take first place and claim the gold medal, because finishing in any lower position will not unlock the next race in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

Once you win on Mos Espa, the game opens up the second course, Legends of Speed on Lantana.

You have to keep winning every race sequentially to clear the entire sequence. Along the way, Sebulba shares bits of racing lore between rounds, like detailing how half the pack slammed into the trees during his wild run on Lantana.

Unlocking Act Three

Racing through flashbacks is fun, but getting your hands on a permanent pod racer happens later on in Act Three in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

First, wrap up the main story line in Act Two by beating Kestar in the final campaign race. After his defeat, the plot reveals that Kestar grabbed Sebulba's old vehicle, gave it a white and gold paint job, and tuned it up to make it even faster.

To stand any chance against him in the next leg of the story, you need to set up a crew and get your own machine running.

When you enter Act Three, walk over to Hibi, who is standing right next to Sebulba. She agrees to serve as your personal mechanic, while Sebulba steps up to act as your racing mentor.

Restoring the Pod Racer on Tatooine

Once your crew is assembled, the story sends you straight to Tatooine. Head into the local garage to claim a beat-up, rusted machine that Sebulba stashed away years ago in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.

Your next step is to run a mandatory test flight titled Hunk of Junk. Do not worry if the machine feels awful right away. The steering pulls hard to the side and the twin engines tend to overheat quickly, which is completely normal for this scripted story section.

Just push through the lap and complete the flight. Once that trial is done, open pod racing tracks will start showing up all over your world map.

Every single one of these new tracks is completely optional, meaning you can take them on whenever you want extra practice before your eventual rematch with Kestar in STAR WARS: Galactic Racer.
