This guide offers comprehensive, step-by-step instructions for obtaining, crafting, assembling, fueling, repairing, and managing a Sandbike in Dune Awakening.
Obtaining a Free Sandbike Early

A Sandbike can be acquired early in the game from multiple spawn locations. One reliable location is inside a Scavenger Camp in the starting area, as indicated on the in-game map. It consistently appears within this camp; if it is not found immediately, checking the corner to the left of the central area is recommended.
Hostile Scavenger AI may be present and must be eliminated before claiming the vehicle. Once the area is clear, approaching the Sandbike and interacting with it (holding the appropriate key, such as E) allows you to claim it.
This claimed Sandbike can then be ridden, refueled, and transported to other areas, but parts cannot be customized, and the Vehicle Backup Tool cannot store this instance for future summoning. Crafting a personal Sandbike is required to access customization and storage features.
Building a Fabricator
To craft a personal Sandbike, constructing a Fabricator within the base is necessary. Equipping the Construction Tool and accessing the build menu (for example, by pressing R) allows the selection of the Fabricators category, where the placement of the Fabricator inside the base can be performed.
Interacting with the Fabricator reveals categories; navigating to the Vehicle category begins the process of constructing tools and parts essential for the Sandbike.
The first tool required is a Welding Torch MK1, which enables assembly, disassembly, and repair of vehicles. Crafting the Welding Torch via the Fabricator under the tool section is essential before proceeding to part fabrication.

Crafting Sandbike Parts and Materials
Crafting a Sandbike requires several essential parts: an Engine, a Chassis, a Hull, a PSU, and three Threads for tires. Materials for these parts often include Copper Ingot, Advanced Servox, and other components obtained from locations such as Imperial Testing Station 2, an open-world dungeon where chests at the end may yield materials like Advanced Servox.
To refine Copper Ingots, building a Small Ore Refinery in the base and processing raw Copper into Copper Ingots is necessary. Optional attachments include a Back Seat, Booster, or Container, of which only one may be fitted at a time—for example, fitting a Booster prevents fitting the Back Seat or Container.
Assembling the Sandbike
With all parts gathered, assembling the Sandbike uses the Welding Torch. First, equipping the Welding Torch in the Hotbar is required, followed by placement of the Chassis. The subsequent attachment of the Engine, PSU, and Hull must be performed in sequence, followed by the installation of the three Threads for the tires.
Optionally, one attachment—either Booster, Back Seat, or Container—can be added, but only one may be chosen based on intended use. Ensuring each component is correctly oriented and secured completes the assembly process.
Fueling the Sandbike
Operating the Sandbike requires fuel crafted via a Small Chemical Refinery constructed in the base. Gathering Fuel Cells from the environment—often found near Scavenger Camps as cube-shaped items resembling batteries—requires using the gathering tool to collect these and nearby smaller chunks.

Processing Fuel Cells into usable fuel within the Chemical Refinery provides the necessary resources. After making fuel, dealing with the Sandbike (hold F to see details), and refueling through the interface, make sure there is enough fuel for long trips through the desert. You can see the fuel level on the screen, usually in the bottom right corner.
Repairing the Sandbike
Maintaining the Sandbike involves using the Welding Torch for repairs. Equipping the Welding Torch and pointing at the Sandbike enables toggling repair mode (for example, via right-click). Holding the repair action (such as left-click) on each damaged part restores durability.
Inspecting durability by interacting with the Sandbike (hold F and select 'More Info') reveals the condition of each part, allowing for timely repairs to maintain optimal performance.
Spawning and Despawning with the Vehicle Backup Tool
Storing the Sandbike with the Vehicle Backup Tool protects it from destruction by Sandstorms, Sandworms, or other hazards. Acquiring required materials—such as Copper Ingot and Particle Capacitor from Imperial Testing Station chests—is necessary before use.
Equipping the Vehicle Backup Tool in the Hotbar and aiming at the Sandbike allows for activation (for example, right-click to aim and left-click to store), which saves the vehicle.
To summon the stored Sandbike, open the tool and place the green silhouette in any permitted location to confirm and spawn. Proper use ensures safe storage and convenient retrieval of the vehicle.

Additional Notes
Early base construction should include the setup of the Fabricator, Refineries, and adequate storage space to streamline vehicle crafting. Dismantling or storing the Sandbike before severe Sandstorms or entry into known Sandworm areas prevents loss.
Optional attachments, such as a Booster, Back Seat, or Container, offer customization but require choosing one based on priorities like speed, cargo capacity, or passenger transport.
