Getting loot is only half the job in SAND: Raiders of Sophie. You also have to get back safely, which requires an understanding of the extraction system. It's as if you lost everything on the way out as it is if you didn't find anything at all.

Finding an Evacuation Zone

Look on your map for door symbols. Those are the evacuation zones. Choose one and walk toward it, but be aware of your surroundings. Other players may be moving to the same spot and could try to take your loot before you get out.

Access to the Signal Towers

When you get close to the extraction point, you will see two large signal towers. Push your Trampler between them and continue driving. A waypoint will show up when you are around 100 meters away. Follow it to the marked tower and climb to the top.

Calling for Extraction

The tower has a Radio at the top. Interact with it to call in the extraction. After you do, a timer will start and your Trampler will start to emit green smoke to indicate the pickup point. You can still be attacked during this period, so watch out for other players.

Waiting for the Ship

Once the first timer has finished, the extraction ship comes in and begins to position itself. A second countdown is displayed when it is lining up. When the message Ready for Evacuation appears, you may wait for the countdown to finish or exit your Trampler and grab the ropes for extraction, indicated by the waypoints, to evacuate immediately. Be alert until your Trampler is completely removed, as you remain at risk until the evacuation is complete.
