Crowns are the main currency in SAND: Raiders of Sophie. They are required to research Tech Tree upgrades, purchase from the shop, and construct certain Trampler parts. They are a limited resource, and when they are scarce, everything slows down, so it's important to know how to get them regularly.

Looting Valuables Safes

Valuables Safes are one of the best sources of Crowns. These safes are designed around high value items, unlike standard crates which are used to store crafting materials. Inside you will find Crowns, Small Valuables, Valuable Papers and other trade goods that you can sell after your run. When you find a shipwreck, abandoned building, or a Bank in an island town, enter. Several safes can be packed together in one location. The less common the safe, the better the contents.

Where to Focus Your Runs

Named locations such as towns and major landmarks have more loot containers than any other location, so they are the best place to find Valuables Safes. Include these locations in your regular expedition itinerary.

Selling Smart Back at Base

It's not enough to get the loot home. You still have to get a successful extraction and then go to the shop to sell the items you found. Small Valuables and Valuable Papers are there to be sold, so move those first. Keep your crafting materials as they will be required for Tech Tree research and Trampler construction. If you have extra weapons, armor, cannons, or duplicate gear that you're not going to use, you can sell those off and get an additional boost in income.
