Tales of Arise Guide | How to Get Alphen's Devil's Arm
Here's a guide on how to get Alphen's Devil's Arm in Tales of Arise
Game Guide by Imdeadfrfr on Jun 06, 2026
With the grand journey across the twin planets of Dahna and Rena coming to an end, you’ll be focusing on maximizing your endgame combat efficiency. Alphen is not only armed with the Realm Unifier, a forged masterpiece with stellar baseline stats, but also a sword that’s even more legendary: a sword that breaks the limits of normal weapon scaling. It is known in the history of the series as the Devil's Arm, an ominous artifact called Nebilim.

This is a malicious sword, unlike normal swords which have static predetermined stats, this sword has a completely fluid power threshold that scales with your combat legacy. Its theoretical damage potential is absolutely limitless, and it is widely considered the absolute deadliest weapon available to Alphen. This sword turns your frontline vanguard into an unstoppable force, capable of melting through the health pools of the toughest super-bosses.
But pulling this blade out of the spatial rifts takes enormous tactical preparation and combat endurance. This weapon cannot be forged by some common city blacksmith, nor can it be purchased from an outpost merchant with your amassed gald. To get Nebilim you need to successfully complete the most dangerous post game content the devs have designed.
How Kill Count Works
But the real genius of Nebilim is its very unique invisible passive mechanic that directly links its raw attack power to Alphen’s life achievements. When you first acquire the weapon, the initial statistics of the weapon may seem surprisingly low or even completely nonexistent to the untrained eye. This fake threshold is because the blade scales exactly on a perfect 1:1 basis with the total number of enemies that Alphen himself has killed.
If you've spent the entire sixty-hour campaign running with a heavy Alphen bias as your active combat leader, the sword will immediately gain thousands of bonus points. For every confirmed kill Alphen gets throughout the game, both his physical and elemental attack stats increase by one permanently. It means that one thoroughly played file could easily give the blade an automatic boost of three thousand points in its core attributes.
Most important of all, it doesn’t even need to be actively equipped to keep on feeding its hunger for enemy souls. The game's background systems are always monitoring your total kill counts for all characters including your computer-controlled companions. Additionally, this accumulated power threshold carries over into a New Game Plus run, allowing you to eventually create a weapon with maxed out offensive metrics.
Requirements to Finish the Main Campaign
Being an epic weapon, the epic quest to obtain it cannot be initiated in the normal progression of the main story chapters. You have to finish the main story, kill the last planetary threats and watch the emotional ending cinematic credits roll. After the sequence is complete, you will be prompted to create a dedicated save slot with your official clear data.
This fresh clear save file is easily recognisable in your main load menu by a bright, unique white star icon. Loading this star-marked file will return your party to the last resting places just before the final boss sequence, but with a massive suite of post-game content unlocked. The first thing you want to do when loading this file is to make sure you have already cleared the baseline Spirit Temple sub-quest in the fifth chapter.
Once you’ve completed that elemental trial, you’ll want to fast travel to the clean, marble-paved streets of Viscint in Menancia region. Look around the crowded streets for local quest givers who will formally give you a sub-quest called Another Hillside Anomaly. Activating this quest will send your party right back to the Earth Spirit Temple to investigate a strange distortion in space.
How to Start the Otherworldly Visitors Questline
Once you make it to the heart of the Earth Spirit Temple, you will be talking with someone mysterious named the Space-Time Researcher. This interaction will officially end the first of the anomaly investigations, and will instantly unlock the legendary post-game questline known as Otherworldly Visitors. The scientist will generate a vortex-like, galactic rift passage that serves as an entrance to an entirely different universe called the Otherworld.
The Otherworld is a deadly parallel dimension consisting of six increasingly difficult floors and unique geographic sub-zones. Each individual layer of this dimensional labyrinth is fiercely guarded by an elite boss character wielding a Devil’s Arm of a specific character. Getting Alphen's sword means going down this gauntlet of rifts, but you have to systematically defeat every previous floor to get the keys that will unlock the next rift.
Enemies roaming these parallel corridors easily scale past level seventy and eighty, so coming into this gauntlet under-leveled is an absolute recipe for disaster. Make sure your active party members are well optimized with the best forged armors and elemental resistance accessories you have at your disposal. You also want to stockpile your premium orange gels and life bottles to keep your healing potential up for long combat runs.
Suppressing the First Two Dimensional Rifts
Your extra-dimensional crusade starts on the first floor of the Otherworld, represented by the damp and dangerous Cavern of Fate Depths. Edna: At the end of these watery pathways, you’ll find a guest boss waiting for you. This is a tough earth-attuned warrior with a huge amount of physical defense. In combat, you need to be very mobile to avoid her large rock constructs, while also using wind magic to exploit her natural elemental weaknesses.

Defeating Edna will reward your party with the unique Destiny Key and unlock Dohalim’s specific Devil’s Arm, Diablo Nox. Use your new key to open the gateway leading down to the Second Floor, the Spirit Forest Depths. This area is filled with high level elemental aberrations. The area culminates in a brutal boss fight with Nimus Origin.
Nimus Origin is a ton of broad physical hits, and heavy area of effect elemental magic that can easily break your party's defensive formation. It will try to start a heavy forward charge every time, so use Kisara’s specialized shield boost attacks to stop it dead in its tracks. Defeating this botanical monstrosity also yields the Symphony Key and Kisara's own ultimate weapon, the Os Rex shield.
Navigating the Challenges of the Mid-Tier Otherworld
You should have the Symphony Key in your inventory. Walk straight into the third sector of the rift, the Oracle Snowcap Summit. This is an icy terrain and your party will have to survive a frenzied multi-target boss fight against 3 different elemental entities called Maleiys, Vasneiys and Dulneiys. Each individual boss has completely opposite elemental weaknesses and resistances, so you absolutely need to have strict targeting discipline.
Have Rinwell use her top tier magic spells on one target at a time and clear them out of the field one by one before they can take down your healers. Besides the Abyss Key, you’ll also earn Rinwell’s specific tome, the Records of the Fallen, for overcoming this chaotic skirmish of the blizzard. With this key you can easily go to the 4th floor of the gauntlet, which is the Dragon Slumber Mountain.
Eizen, a giant brawler with the destructive power of the wind and earth elements, guards this volcanic peak. Eizen is surprisingly agile for his large frame, unleashing deadly explosive punch combinations that can take down your frontline vanguard with ease. You will have to time your dodge rolls well to trigger perfect evades. This way, Law can perform rapid counter-attacks to earn the Zest Key and the Demon's Cry gauntlets.
Ultimate Dual Boss Convergence Survival
The fifth floor of the Otherworld takes your party to the absolute apex of environmental danger within the Volcano of Renewal Summit. In the same arena that throws you into a brutal tag-team match against Edna and Eizen, you are thrown against a new single opponent. This round is a massive spike in strategic difficulty given how many physical and magical dangers are incoming.
You need to turn your party’s artificial intelligence settings to fully concentrate on one boss and keep the other distracted. Typically you want to kill Edna first, as she has disruptive area-of-effect earth magics, then turn your full offensive power on Eizen. Survive this brutal double fight and you’ll be rewarded with the Scarlet Night Key, which will allow you to unlock Shionne’s Devil’s Arm, the Dämonisch Core.
And now that you have the last dimensional key, you are completely cleared to enter the sixth and final level of the Otherworld maze. To dimensional researchers, this last stop is known as the Land of Judgment, a stark and desolate arena that floats in the cosmic void. Join us on the central platform to kick off the ultimate post-game showdown for Alphen's legendary blade.
Chronos the Slayer of Time Masters
Chronos, a mythical celestial being with supreme control over the current of time, materialises at the centre of the Land of Judgment. A level ninety-five boss with a very aggressive play style. With lightning fast teleportation strikes and massive energy beams, Chronos can decimate challengers. His unique combat mechanics allow him to instantly close distance to your backline spellcasters. Making passive positioning completely useless.

His one most dangerous tool is a terrifying ability that freezes your active characters completely in place for a few seconds. The only way to get through this time manipulation is to cling to Alphen’s fiery boost attacks and use them to interrupt Chronos whenever he starts to channel his ultimate abilities. If you can knock him down with a well-timed boost strike, then your party has a critical offensive window to unleash your strongest physical artes.
Having Shionne and Dohalim together on the field at the same time can create a solid double-healer safety net that can instantly reverse huge damage spikes. Keep tight in your positioning and don’t over-extend in long action animations that leave you open to his rapid counter-offensive sweeps. Continue this disciplined defensive loop, slowly whittling down his massive health bar until the celestial warden finally falls over.
Taking the Weapon and Making the Most of it
Once Chronos is entirely defeated, the overarching Otherworldly Visitors sub-quest will conclude on a victorious note. The game will give you the Nebilim sword as a final reward for beating the sixth rift of the Land of Judgment. You can open your equipment menu immediately and slot this beautiful, dark, aura-infused blade into Alphen’s main weapon slot.
If your new Nebilim seems a bit lackluster compared to your forged weapons, you just need to farm quick enemy kills to awaken its true potential. A great end-game move is to go to the Training Grounds in Viscint and do the low level challenge trials. For example, choosing the specialized women’s edition challenge spawns eighteen low-level enemies that can be killed in one hit.
Repeatedly clearing these massive waves of weak monsters is a very efficient way to rapidly inflate Alphen's lifetime kill count. Nebilim’s physical and elemental attack stats will soar past every other weapon in the game in an hour of targeted farming. With this masterwork at full power in his hand, Alphen is the absolute and unquestionable lord of the battlefield for all of the remaining challenges.
