In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you have the option to evolve Pinsir into Mega Pinsir, transforming it into a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon with new abilities and form changes.

This guide explains how to obtain Mega Pinsir and its corresponding Pinsirite, as well as where to trade Mega Shards to unlock this Mega Evolution.
Obtaining Mega Pinsir
To obtain Mega Pinsir, you will need the Pinsirite, which serves as the key item required for its Mega Evolution. You can acquire the Pinsirite by exchanging 240 Mega Shards at the Quasartico Inc. Headquarters.
Mega Shards can be found throughout Lumiose City. You can collect them by locating and breaking the clusters scattered in different areas of the city.

Once you have gathered enough Mega Shards, head to the Quasartico Inc. Headquarters and trade them to receive the Pinsirite.
After obtaining the Pinsirite, you can use it to enable Pinsir to Mega Evolve during battles, unlocking its Bug/Flying-type form.
